Are You On The "Crazy Train"?

Marketers today are dumb... really really dumb.  Ok... maybe 'dumb' isn't such a good word to use.  Then, should I say 'insane'?  Yes, I think 'insane' is a better term.  I mean, take a look at what the definition of insanity is:  "Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results".  Isn't that what marketers do?

Marketers (yes, myself included) spend hours posting the same ads to the same places.  Why?  I mean, the same people are going to be reading the same ads that they read yesterday... do you really think they are going to be interested today when they just deleted it yesterday?

Ok... so we've all been told that it takes a person 7 times before they will actually act on something.  I think I want to argue that... I know for me, if I see something once, and I was not interested in it then, I sure as he@? won't be interested in it after the 7th time (or the 70th) .  Maybe I'm weird... I don't know.

It's just plain crazy! 

Then, there are these marketers who are so gungho about their product/company/service that they won't even slow down to take a breath!  They are like the energizer bunny... they just keep going and going and going!  What's up with that?  They won't take no for an answer... they interject their opportunity into any conversation at any given moment without any thought whatsoever about how the recipient will react.  They act like they are crazy!

Well, these 'crazy' people must know what they are doing.  They are the ones who are succeeding.  Maybe we should all take a page from their book - whatever book that is and hop on that train... The Crazy Train!

Crazy is IN!
