SEX TRAFFICKING AND COMPUTER FORENSICS

Introduction

Throughout the world today, there has arisen a new (or not so new) form of human degradation from the newly traversed trenches of criminal fiefdom. In the battle to overcome, many new forms of combat are becoming revealed with the advent of the newest technologies and the almost magical devices that are being uncovered almost daily. These devices and technologies, when they are in the hands of those who wish to compromise the safety of others, can be used to turn the most innocent, unassuming young boys and girls into terrified, tortured and tattered victims just by offering them promising messages of fame, fortune and riches. These types of messages are not new by any means; they have been used to lure young victims through out history. However, the method used today by those who seek to entrap others has been rapidly changing and the challenges that are faced by those seeking to stop them have remained constant.

When investigating crimes that use the devices and technologies of today, there are three basic types of data that can be used to build a case against a suspected perpetrator. These are active data, archival data and latent data. The difference between the three is: active data is data that can be seen without needing any special tools to obtain, such as data files, operating files and program files, archival data consists of data which has been backed up on storage mediums such as hard drives, CDs, tapes or floppy disks and latent data is the type of data which can only be accessed by using specialized tools such as computer software programs dedicated to recovering data from damaged or deleted files.

RECOVERING GRAPHICS FILES - Unit 7 Computer Forensics Assignment

Recovering a File

In order to open the apparently corrupt zip file, orkty.zip, we must first repair it.  There are numerous reasons why a file may become corrupt, although the most common reason is that it would have a damaged Header part.   The Header is the part of the file which contains important data such as the file size, compressing and decompressing algorithm, property settings, etc.  Should this part become corrupt due to inconsistency in header part then Windows is unable to open the file and throws a CRC, Cyclic Redundancy Checking, error or other types of error (Zip Recovery Software. 2013).

America... TAKE A STAND!!!!!

You know... I can't believe the American people are letting the government take their rights away from them... the National parks and other monuments are OURS... NOT the government's... we should not idly stand by and allow the few to screw the many! What should happen is that the congress and President should be the ones going without pay... and their pay goes to the government workers throughout the nation!

This is BS!!!!  Let's take our country back!

CLONES... Are They Exact Duplicates or No?

Since, at this moment in time in our Universe, we do not have transporter technology,  we cannot simply create carbon copies of living beings from the buffered information that is stored in the transporter memory banks.  Nor can we wave a magic wand, open a mystical box or swirl a pattern of vortexed energies and magically entice a living clone to appear.  Therefore, we must create clones by growing them.  The process of growing them is what is we know as Cloning and is subject to the quantum mechanics observer effect and Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principles- in other words, the environment.  You cannot absolutely duplicate the environment.
Fingerprints are created by the environment that the fetus is surrounded by, not by the DNA that is used to create the being.  Since each individual's environment will be uniquely different - temperature, movements, nutrients; and ridge events which are created during formation, then no two individual fingerprints can be an exact copy of another.
Ergo, the logical conclusion to the question of whether or not clones and their hosts have identical fingerprints is no, the fingerprints of the host and the clone would not be identical due to the differences in environment during gestation.

Mistaken Identity... The Story of Damon Thibodeaux

Arrested in New Orleans in 1996 for the murder of his half cousin, 14 year old Crystal Champagne, Damon Thibodeaux had resided in Louisiana's Angola Prison on Death Row for 15 years for a crime he was later found to be innocent of.  Thanks to the DNA evidence uncovered by The Innocence Project, he became one of over 300 people who have been exonerated for crimes that they had been incarcerated for that they did not commit.
While there is no mention as to the specific DNA tests that were performed, it is mentioned that there was a discrepancy between the evidence that had been collected and the evidence that was used in the trial.  After these discrepancies were discovered by Thibodeaux's lawyer, a group by the name of The Innocence Project was enlisted to help re-evaluate his conviction.   The Innocence Project’s first case was in 1989, when Gary Dotson became the first person to be exonerated in the United States through the use of DNA evidence.  In the years since Dotson's exoneration, new DNA evidence developed by the Innocence Project has exonerated over 280 individuals of crimes they did not commit. Seventeen of the exonerated persons had been convicted of first-degree murder and were subsequently sentenced to death.   Others were exonerated of violent crimes such as rape and assault as in the case of Damon Thibodeaux, who was both convicted of rape and sentenced to death (Thompson, 2012).
The Innocence Project has also been described as “a national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice (Innocence Project. 2012)."

Terrorism and Online Identity Theft

Part One:  Terrorism and Technology

 CyberTerrorist Group - Anonymous :

Anonymous is a cyber terrorist group that originally started from a small grassroots level in 2003 and has since propagated to a sophisticated organization with members from all over the world.   It is a leaderless decentralized community which was originated on the Internet and is known for its hacks and DDoS attacks on various government, religious, and corporate websites.   By using "Memes", which can be anything from smiley faces to evil ideas, members of Anonymous "operated in (online) disguise and have been known to transmit terrorist memes through online channels such as imageboards, chatrooms, and even YouTube videos" (ExtermisProject, 2013).
A meme is defined as a "unit of culture" (an idea, belief, pattern of behaviour, etc.) which is "hosted" in one or more individual minds, and which can reproduce itself; thereby jumping from mind to mind.  “Memetic engineering” is currently being studied to determine the effects of 'memes' on human behavior.  It is this memetic effect that Anonymous is attempting to utilize in their attempt to create cyber terrorism (ExtermisProject, 2013).

Processing the Crime Scene

Upon the discovery of the deceased female in her bedroom and determining that she had been a victim of rape, it is up to the forensic investigator to process the scene and determine what kind of evidence has been left behind so to attempt to identify the perpetrator .  By collecting physical evidence, possible suspects can be identified or eliminated and can help to either corroborate or dispute their statements.  Most often, the evidence found in a sexual assault case would include biological evidence such as semen, blood, and skin cells along with hair, fibers and other trace evidence, and impression evidence such as fingerprints, shoeprints or tool marks.

Cucumbers are cooler than you think...

“1. Fat busting: Do you ever wonder why women put cucumbers on their eyes to relieve puffiness? The photochemical in cucumbers makes the collagen in your skin tighten, thus the lack of puffiness. Did you know that you can rub a cucumber on a problematic spot of cellulite anywhere on your body to lessen the visibility of it? Did you also know that it has the same effect on wrinkles? Wow, it makes purchasing those fifty dollar creams seem a little silly, doesn’t it? You can also rub a little bit under your kiddo’s eyes after a long bout of crying to avoid that puffy ‘I cried for an hour straight’ look.

2. Defogger: Do you get annoyed when you get out of the shower and you have to fight the fog on the mirror? Who has time for that when the kids will be awake at any moment? Try rubbing a slice of cucumber on the mirror before you hop in and not only will you get a fog-free mirror, but you’ll have a nice smell that will boost your mood.

"Got Weeds? Use Vinegar, Not Roundup"

This year (2011) Monsanto, the product’s evil manufacturer, agreed with the New York Attorney General’s office to discontinue their use of the terms “biodegradable” and “environmentally friendly” in ads promoting Roundup. Why? Because these terms were bald-faced lies. Roundup is neither biodegradable nor environmentally friendly.

The next time you want to murder your weeds, why douse them with something that will remain in the soil for who knows how long? Maybe you should reach for vinegar instead. Vinegar is cheap. It’s easy to use. I keep gallons of it in my garden shed.

How to Apply: You can use a watering can, a spray bottle or a pump-sprayer to apply vinegar. I use a pump-sprayer, because it is more efficient. Be sure to rinse your sprayer after use, or metal parts (if any) can corrode.

Make your application on a warm, sunny, calm (not windy) day. Vinegar is not selective; it can potentially harm plants you wish to keep, should you accidentally spray them. As I said earlier, I use vinegar on walkways, where grass and ornamental plants are not an issue.

Water was Not added.

Comments from fans:

"John S****s: gallon vinegar. half cup salt. tablespoon washing up liquid. best recipe. weeds disappear. and dont grow again!! tested..."

"Pami Ta****: I use distilled white vinegar ... it works every time"

"Roxann Han*****: My husband once emptied his spayer by blasting a 4 x 4 section of the lawn. It had old round up in the sprayer. that 4x 4 section is still dead. that was 4 or 5 yrs. ago. I personally haven't used chemicals since about 1996. My dog was exposed to malithione and suffered immediate neuro/ brain damage . Had to be euthanized. So if I can grow beautiful gardens using only natural remedies, anyone can. Monsanto you are liars, all of you!"

Not Just for Coffee Anymore!!!

COFFEE FILTERS

Coffee filters .... Who knew! And you can buy 1,000 at the Dollar Tree for almost nothing even the large ones.

1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers.

2. Clean windows, mirrors, and chrome... Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.

3. Protect China by separating your good dishes with a coffee filter between each dish.

4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter.

5. Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.

6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.

7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.

8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale.

9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.

10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.

11.. Prevent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.

12. Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters..

13. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc on them. It soaks out all the grease.

14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick fixers."

15. As a sewing backing. Use a filter as an easy-to-tear backing for embroidering or appliqueing soft fabrics.

16. Put baking soda into a coffee filter and insert into shoes or a closet to absorb or prevent odors.

17. Use them to strain soup stock and to tie fresh herbs in to put in soups and stews.

18. Use a coffee filter to prevent spilling when you add fluids to your car.

19. Use them as a spoon rest while cooking and clean up small counter spills.

20. Can use to hold dry ingredients when baking or when cutting a piece of fruit or veggies.. Saves on having extra bowls to wash.

21. Use them to wrap Christmas ornaments for storage.

22. Use them to remove fingernail polish when out of cotton balls.

23. Use them to sprout seeds.. Simply dampen the coffee filter, place seeds inside, fold it and place it into a plastic baggie until they sprout.

24. Use coffee filters as blotting paper for pressed flowers. Place the flowers between two coffee filters and put the coffee filters in phone book..

25. Use as a disposable "snack bowl" for popcorn, chips, etc.

Not just for coffee--

Your pictures could be worth over $10,000!

Almost everyone has heard of Vincent Van Gogh at one point in their life, but not many people know how much some of his well known paintings are actually worth.

In 1990, the painting entitled "Portrait of Dr. Gachet" sold for $82,500,000.  Amazing isn't it?

You might wonder why I'm telling you this, but here is the reason:

Artwork, drawings and photographs tend to increase in value as time goes on.

Caprese Lasagna Roll Ups

Caprese Lasagna Roll Ups
Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

8 lasagna noodles, uncooked
14 oz freshly shredded, low-moisture part skim Mozzarella cheese, divided
3/4 cup Ricotta cheese
1 large egg white
1/3 cup freshly, finely shredded Parmesan cheese (about 1 1/4 oz)
freshly ground black pepper
3 - 4 medium Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced (about 1/6 inch thick slices)
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, plus more for garnish
1 cup marinara sauce, recipe follows
Simple Marinara Sauce
2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup finely chopped yellow onion
2 cloves garlic finely minced
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook pasta according to directions listed on package to al dente. Drain pasta (DO NOT rinse with water) and align lasagna noodles in a single layer on a large sheet of parchment or wax paper.
For filling, in a large mixing bowl, whisk together ricotta cheese and egg white until well blended. Stir in Parmesan cheese. Mix in 12 oz. of the Mozzarella cheese and season with black pepper to taste (I wouldn't recommend seasoning with salt just because the cheeses already have plenty of salt).
Place 1/4 cup of the cheese mixture over each lasagna noodle and spread into an even layer, going from one end of the lasagna to the other. Align 4 thin tomato slices over cheese mixture then sprinkle fresh basil over top. Snugly roll lasagna noodles to opposite end. Spread about 1/4 cup pasta sauce in the bottom of an 11 x 7 inch baking dish. Align lasagna roll ups, seam side down in dish. Top each roll up with about 2 Tbsp of the pasta sauce (covering edges of pasta so they don't dry out while baking). Sprinkle top with remaining 2 oz. shredded Mozzarella. Bake in preheated oven 30 minutes. Remove from oven, plate pasta and garnish with plenty of basil ribbons. Serve warm.
Simple Marinara Sauce
Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium high heat. Add onions to hot oil and saute about 3 minutes until soft, adding garlic during last minute of sauteing. Pour in crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring mixture just to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer and allow sauce to cook for about 25 - 30 minutes (which will allow some of the water in crushed tomatoes to evaporate) while you prepare pasta and lasagna filling (you can freeze or refrigerate left over sauce in a small airtight container for later use, adding fresh basil if desired).
